The typical flavors of traditional Tuscan cuisine come to life in the specialties of Vecchio Casale ai Pioppi, a place where you eat the way our grandparents cooked: appetisers from the tradition of simple, country cooking include the famous bruschetta made with fresh tomato, garlic, local mushrooms or vegetables.
The undisputed star of our first courses is the homemade pasta still made by local women still with a rolling pin: tagliatelle, tagliolini, gnocchi, pappardelle and tordelli, our specialty; there are also typical soups and vegetable soups.
For second courses, we have steaks; all types of grilled specialties; stews such as wild boar, deer and all kinds of game meat. You can also try cod, caciucco and, by reservation only, all types of fish, accompanied by excellent local Italian and foreign wines.
